Calciphylaxis is a rare condition affecting patients suffering from end-stage renal failure, characterised by cutaneous ischaemia and necrosis. The management of calciphylaxis is challenging owing to the lack of optimal medical therapy, although parathyroidectomy has shown some benefit.
